About the Role
Join Hedge as our founding wholesale broker and build the placement function from the ground up. You’ll own the desk—deciding which markets to use, how we collaborate with retail agents, and how placements are structured, negotiated, and supported with the right systems.
This is an ownership-focused role for someone who moves fast, enjoys building, and wants meaningful upside. It’s not designed for someone looking to simply inherit an existing book of business.
Responsibilities
- Handle submissions end to end, from intake and marketing through negotiation, quoting, binding, and servicing
- Develop relationships with retail agents to increase inbound submission flow
- Manage carrier and market relationships across E&S carriers, MGAs, and London markets
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and coverage on behalf of retail clients
- Turn placement judgment into repeatable workflows, rules, and tooling that improve speed and consistency
Requirements
- Proven wholesale broking experience with a strong understanding of trucking-related placement and underwriting dynamics
- Comfort owning a desk and driving strategy across markets, process, and distribution
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to structure deals effectively
- Experience building or improving operational workflows and systems
- Ability to collaborate closely with founders on carrier relationships, appetite, and product direction
