About the Role

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is looking for an experienced Human Resources Analyst/Specialist to join the Classification and Compensation Unit within the Human Resources Section of the Office of Management and Finance. In this role, you’ll provide advanced consultation and support on position classification, compensation, organizational structure, special pay requests, and compliance with State Civil Service rules and DOTD policies.

Responsibilities

  • Advise District Human Resources staff, supervisors, appointing authorities, office heads, and executive leadership on classification and compensation topics
  • Review and evaluate position descriptions to support accurate classification decisions
  • Analyze compensation and organizational structure needs, including special pay request reviews
  • Ensure recommendations align with State Civil Service requirements and DOTD internal policies
  • Support compliance through documentation and guidance for stakeholders

Requirements

  • Experience in human resources analysis or specialist-level HR work, with a focus on classification and/or compensation
  • Strong understanding of position classification concepts and compensation practices
  • Ability to interpret and apply State Civil Service rules and agency HR policies
  • Excellent communication skills for advising multiple stakeholder groups
