About the Role

Scout Motors is building the future of rugged American vehicles, combining heritage with electrification and digital innovation. We’re looking for a Lead Engineer to help design and advance automation tooling that improves how our teams build, test, and deliver high-quality products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of automation tooling and internal systems
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to identify workflow bottlenecks and automate repeatable processes
  • Design robust solutions with an emphasis on reliability, maintainability, and scalability
  • Drive documentation, standards, and best practices for tooling across the organization
  • Support troubleshooting and optimization to ensure smooth execution across production and test environments

Requirements

  • Proven experience building automation tools, scripts, or engineering systems
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and a practical approach to system design
  • Experience working with test/CI workflows, data pipelines, or industrial automation concepts
  • Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and communicate technical decisions clearly
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where iteration and ownership matter
