About the Role
Scout Motors is building next-generation rugged SUVs and trucks with electrified and digitized powertrains. We’re looking for a Lead Vehicle Software Engineer to own software packaging and build practices that help teams deliver reliable vehicle software at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of vehicle software packaging workflows and release processes
- Own and improve software build systems for vehicle software delivery
- Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure software components integrate cleanly
- Drive consistency across releases by defining standards for versioning, dependency management, and artifact handling
- Troubleshoot build and packaging issues and implement preventative fixes
- Collaborate with teams across the organization to improve CI/CD readiness and delivery reliability
Requirements
- Experience building and maintaining software build pipelines for complex systems
- Strong understanding of software packaging, release engineering, and software artifact management
- Proficiency with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar)
- Experience working with embedded/vehicle software ecosystems and integration workflows
- Ability to lead technical efforts and collaborate effectively across teams
