About the Role
Challenge Preparatory Charter School is seeking a Middle School Family and Consumer Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. You’ll help students build practical life skills while supporting mastery of New York State learning standards in a safe, supportive, and data-informed environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned to NY State Learning Standards and school curriculum expectations
- Create a positive classroom culture that supports students’ social-emotional growth
- Use data and instructional feedback to guide student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Collaborate with colleagues to support schoolwide goals and student outcomes
- Participate in professional learning and contribute to a strong, student-centered school community
Requirements
- Teaching experience in middle school and/or Family and Consumer Sciences preferred
- Ability to design instruction that meets diverse student needs
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
- Strong understanding of standards-based instruction and student assessment
