About the Role
Axon 911 is building the next generation 911 platform by combining modern public-safety infrastructure with an AI intelligence layer. As a Staff VoIP Software Engineer, you’ll help design and deliver reliable voice communications capabilities that support agencies where every second matters.
Responsibilities
- Own key parts of the VoIP software stack, from architecture through implementation and operational readiness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate voice services with broader Axon 911 platform components
- Improve performance, scalability, and reliability of real-time communication features
- Write and maintain maintainable, well-tested code and tooling for production environments
- Partner with stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, drive root-cause analysis, and implement preventative fixes
Requirements
- Strong software engineering background with experience building real-time systems
- Proficiency with VoIP/telephony concepts and related protocols
- Experience designing distributed services and integrating with cloud or microservices architectures
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of complex technical problems
- Strong debugging, testing, and engineering judgment to ensure high-quality releases
