About the Role
Scout Motors is seeking a Specialist OBD Requirements Engineer focused on testing. You’ll help define and validate on-board diagnostics (OBD) requirements for our electrified powertrains, ensuring systems meet technical and regulatory expectations.
Responsibilities
- Translate OBD requirements into clear, testable specifications for verification activities
- Develop and maintain test approaches, scenarios, and documentation for OBD-related features
- Partner with engineering and validation teams to confirm traceability from requirements to test results
- Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for OBD faults found during testing
- Review system behavior and diagnostic outputs to ensure compliance and correct operation
Requirements
- Experience with on-board diagnostics (OBD) and diagnostic requirement development
- Strong testing mindset with the ability to design testable acceptance criteria
- Knowledge of diagnostic concepts such as fault detection, reporting, and readiness logic
- Ability to work cross-functionally and maintain clear requirement-to-test traceability
- Experience supporting validation in an automotive or embedded systems environment
