About the Role
Join the Maine Families Program as a Parent Education Professional serving families in Lincoln County. You’ll deliver the Parent as Teachers™ evidence-based model, using research-informed practices to support healthy child development from prenatal stages through age five.
This role includes home-based visits and virtual sessions (via Zoom), helping families strengthen protective factors such as parenting knowledge, resilience, social connections, and children’s social-emotional skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide Parent as Teachers™ parent education and support in families’ homes and through Zoom
- Use child development knowledge to support early detection of potential developmental delays
- Help increase school readiness by strengthening family engagement and parenting skills
- Support prevention of child abuse and neglect through protective factor building
- Collaborate with the program team to plan, document, and coordinate services for enrolled families
Requirements
- Experience or training related to early childhood development, parenting education, or family support
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with caregivers
- Ability to work effectively in both home-visit and virtual environments
- Commitment to child safety, developmental wellbeing, and supportive family engagement
Benefits
- Soft-money funded position with a typical hiring range of $46,000–$50,000 (commensurate with qualifications)
