About the Role
Dragos is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to help build the leading OT Security Platform. In this matrix-style engineering environment, you’ll collaborate across teams to deliver security capabilities that protect industrial organizations and the critical services they rely on—like water, electricity, and safe working environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve backend services that power the OT security platform
- Lead technical direction for complex systems, balancing reliability, scalability, and security
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate product and threat-intelligence needs into engineering outcomes
- Mentor engineers through technical reviews, architecture guidance, and best practices
- Improve system observability, performance, and operational readiness across services
Requirements
- Strong backend engineering experience building production systems
- Expertise in software architecture, API/service design, and distributed systems fundamentals
- Experience with modern development practices (testing, CI/CD, code quality, and operational excellence)
- Ability to lead ambiguous technical problems and drive decisions with clear tradeoffs
- Commitment to building trustworthy, transparent engineering solutions
