About the Role
RTX is seeking a Principal Cybersecurity Software Engineer (P4) to support mission-critical security efforts at our onsite location in East Hartford, Connecticut. This role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance, with an active DoD Secret clearance required after day 1.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and secure software systems to protect aerospace and defense platforms
- Lead cybersecurity engineering efforts across the software lifecycle, from requirements through delivery
- Collaborate with engineering teams to assess threats, implement security controls, and reduce risk
- Contribute to secure coding practices, vulnerability mitigation, and technical documentation
- Support compliance and security review activities related to cleared environments
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship required to be eligible for a security clearance
- Active DoD Secret clearance required after day 1 (and ability to maintain clearance)
- Experience building and securing software systems in a security-focused environment
- Strong understanding of secure software engineering principles and threat-aware development
- Ability to work onsite in East Hartford, CT
