About the Role
Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) builds the core infrastructure and foundational technologies that power Microsoft’s Intelligent Cloud. This includes security and compliance capabilities across global server and data center environments supporting products like Azure, Teams, OneDrive, and more.
In this role, you’ll help advance security for cloud infrastructure by partnering with hardware and software teams to design and deliver trusted, high-efficiency experiences for customers and partners worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Design and improve security architectures for cloud infrastructure and related systems.
- Collaborate across engineering groups to integrate security controls into hardware/software workflows.
- Drive threat modeling, risk assessment, and security validation for critical services.
- Develop security-focused tooling, automation, and operational practices to improve reliability.
- Partner with stakeholders to define security requirements and measurable outcomes.
Requirements
- Strong background in security engineering with experience securing large-scale systems.
- Expertise in threat modeling, secure design, and security validation/verification.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams across infrastructure, software, and/or hardware.
- Proficiency with common security concepts and practices (e.g., identity, access control, secure protocols, hardening).
- Ability to communicate security risks and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
