About the Role
Varda is building commercial space infrastructure to enable advanced manufacturing in orbit and reliable reentry systems. We’re seeking a Real-Time Software Automation and Controls Engineer with Beckhoff experience to help design and deliver automation and control solutions for in-house vehicle systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop real-time automation and control software for industrial and space-critical systems
- Implement and integrate Beckhoff-based control and automation components
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to translate system requirements into reliable control behavior
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning for real-time operation
- Contribute to documentation and maintainable software practices for deployed systems
Requirements
- Experience building real-time control or automation software using Beckhoff platforms
- Strong understanding of control systems concepts and real-time constraints
- Proficiency with PLC/automation tooling and debugging workflows
- Experience working in engineering teams to deliver hardware-software integrated solutions
