About the Role
Join the Nursing Department at East Louisiana Mental Health System (ELMHS) in Jackson, Louisiana. This role supports adult mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation across a variety of programs including inpatient services, jail-based evaluations, residential and group home settings, forensic evaluation, and aftercare coordination.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive direct patient care by developing and implementing individualized nursing care plans
- Administer medications and assist with medical examinations and procedures as needed
- Support safe, therapeutic patient care and document clinical activities accurately
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure continuity of services across the mental health system
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff in accordance with facility policies
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Ability to create and follow nursing care plans based on patient needs
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Effective communication and teamwork skills in a behavioral health setting
