About the Role
The Community Group Homes Department at Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System (ELMHS) is seeking a Residential Services Specialist to support residents in daily routines and help build the skills needed for a successful transition back to the community.
ELMHS provides mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults, including residential and supervised group home programs, inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, forensic evaluations, and aftercare.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with day-to-day activities and routines to promote stability and independence
- Support skill-building focused on communication and daily living
- Help residents work toward goals that support transition planning back into the community
- Collaborate with program staff to maintain a consistent, supportive environment
- Document and communicate relevant observations according to program requirements
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals in a residential or care setting (preferred)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to support positive engagement
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain professional, respectful interactions
- Commitment to resident well-being and skill development
