About the Role
Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Observability Architect to help design and advance observability solutions for cloud-scale systems. In this role, you’ll partner with teams across the organization to ensure reliability, improve incident response, and optimize telemetry to reduce noise and cost—so customers can move faster with confidence.
Responsibilities
- Architect observability approaches across metrics, logs, and traces for production environments
- Design scalable telemetry pipelines and ingestion strategies that support high-volume workloads
- Collaborate with engineering and customer-facing teams to improve reliability and accelerate incident resolution
- Identify opportunities to reduce alert fatigue by tuning signals, dashboards, and detection logic
- Contribute to open standards and ecosystem alignment that supports interoperability
Requirements
- Strong experience designing observability systems (metrics/logs/traces) in distributed environments
- Proficiency with Grafana and related observability tooling and concepts
- Solid understanding of reliability engineering, SRE practices, and incident workflows
- Experience optimizing telemetry cost and performance while maintaining actionable signal quality
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction across teams
