About the Role
CesiumAstro is looking for a Senior Staff Systems Engineer with a Mission Analyst focus to help design and evaluate advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. You’ll work in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment where hands-on problem solving, autonomy, and collaboration are key.
Eligibility Requirement: To comply with U.S. Government Space Technology Export Regulations, applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee/refugee (protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
Responsibilities
- Analyze mission requirements and translate them into system-level needs and trade studies
- Support end-to-end systems engineering activities across concept, design, integration, and verification
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architectures, interfaces, and performance targets
- Contribute to technical documentation and engineering decision-making throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements
- Strong systems engineering background with demonstrated mission analysis experience
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with technical stakeholders
- U.S. person eligibility as required for U.S. Government Space Technology Export Regulations
- Experience evaluating system performance and requirements using engineering analysis and structured problem solving
