About the Role
The Mental Health Advocacy Services (MHAS) has an opening for a Social Worker 4 within the Child Advocacy Program. This role supports a multidisciplinary approach to children’s legal representation, helping ensure clients’ voices are heard and that they receive the rights and remedies they are entitled to under the law.
Responsibilities
- Support children’s legal representation through a multidisciplinary team model within the Child Advocacy Program.
- Serve as a key resource for information related to adults and children with mental health diagnoses and children in need of care.
- Help address systemic issues that impact the rights of more than one client and may require broader remedies.
- Contribute to training efforts for relevant individuals and agencies.
Requirements
- Experience working in social services, mental health advocacy, or child welfare-related settings.
- Strong understanding of client rights and the legal/advocacy process for vulnerable populations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys and multidisciplinary partners.
- Commitment to client-centered advocacy and confidentiality.
