About the Role
The Mental Health Advocacy Services (MHAS) is seeking a Social Worker 4 to support the Child Advocacy Program. This role helps strengthen a multidisciplinary approach to children’s legal representation, ensuring clients’ voices are heard and that they receive all rights and remedies available under the law.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support children involved in child welfare and related legal matters.
- Serve as a point of connection for information involving adults and children with mental health diagnoses and children in need of care.
- Assist in identifying systemic issues affecting multiple clients and support efforts to address those concerns.
- Contribute to training and information-sharing with partner individuals and agencies.
Requirements
- Experience working in social services, child welfare, or related mental health advocacy settings.
- Ability to work effectively within a team-based, legal advocacy environment.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to client-centered advocacy.
- Knowledge of community resources and the ability to coordinate support for vulnerable populations.
