About the Role
The Mental Health Advocacy Services (MHAS) is seeking a Social Worker 4 for its Child Advocacy Program. This role supports a multidisciplinary approach to children’s legal representation, helping ensure clients’ voices are heard and that they receive the rights and remedies available under the law.
Responsibilities
- Support the multidisciplinary team in providing legal advocacy for children involved in child welfare matters
- Serve as a resource and clearinghouse for information related to adults and children with mental health diagnoses and children in need of care
- Contribute to addressing systemic issues that impact the rights of more than one client
- Assist with training and information-sharing with partner individuals and agencies
Requirements
- Experience working in social services, child welfare, or mental health advocacy
- Strong understanding of client-centered advocacy and confidentiality
- Ability to collaborate effectively with legal and multidisciplinary stakeholders
- Commitment to ensuring children’s needs and rights are clearly represented
