About the Role

The Mental Health Advocacy Services (MHAS) is seeking a Social Worker 4 for its Child Advocacy Program. This role supports a multidisciplinary approach to children’s legal representation, helping ensure clients’ voices are heard and that they receive the rights and remedies available under the law.

Responsibilities

  • Support the multidisciplinary team in providing legal advocacy for children involved in child welfare matters
  • Serve as a resource and clearinghouse for information related to adults and children with mental health diagnoses and children in need of care
  • Contribute to addressing systemic issues that impact the rights of more than one client
  • Assist with training and information-sharing with partner individuals and agencies

Requirements

  • Experience working in social services, child welfare, or mental health advocacy
  • Strong understanding of client-centered advocacy and confidentiality
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with legal and multidisciplinary stakeholders
  • Commitment to ensuring children’s needs and rights are clearly represented
