About the Role
Join our backend engineering team to support a fast-paced migration initiative. You’ll help modernize a legacy PHP system to the latest stable PHP version, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality, reliable delivery.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the client’s technical team to understand the current architecture and migration objectives
- Upgrade the PHP codebase to the latest stable version while ensuring compatibility and improved performance
- Refactor and optimize existing PHP code using modern development standards and best practices
- Perform testing, debugging, and validation to ensure stability after migration
- Create documentation and support knowledge transfer as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as a PHP Software Engineer working with real-world backend systems
- Strong understanding of PHP upgrade and compatibility considerations
- Experience refactoring legacy code and applying modern best practices
- Solid testing and debugging skills to ensure production-ready outcomes
