About the Role
Brex is building an intelligent finance platform that helps companies spend smarter and move faster across global markets. As a Staff Software Engineer on our Banking team, you’ll design and deliver high-impact software that improves banking experiences such as spend visibility, bill pay, and related financial workflows.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and execution for complex banking-related systems
- Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver reliable customer outcomes
- Improve system performance, scalability, and operational excellence
- Mentor engineers through thoughtful reviews, architecture guidance, and technical leadership
- Drive quality through testing strategy, observability, and incident learnings
Requirements
- Strong experience building production software in a large-scale environment
- Deep knowledge of software architecture, data flows, and distributed systems
- Proficiency with modern backend languages and frameworks (as applicable to your stack)
- Experience with reliability practices such as monitoring, alerting, and incident response
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical partners
