About the Role
Samaritan Daytop Village is a leading human services organization in New York State, supporting more than 38,000 New Yorkers each year through a network of community, residential, and outpatient programs. As a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (VRC), you’ll help clients explore their strengths, strengthen job readiness, and move toward meaningful employment.
In this role, you’ll provide both individual and group counseling focused on career planning, connect clients to essential community resources, and collaborate with state job liaisons and local employers to expand employment opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver career counseling and vocational rehabilitation services through individual and group sessions
- Support clients in developing job readiness skills and realistic employment goals
- Coordinate referrals and connect clients with community resources and supportive services
- Partner with state job liaisons and local businesses to build and strengthen employment pathways
- Assist clients with planning steps toward job placement, retention, and progress tracking
Requirements
- Master’s degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling, social work, mental health counseling, or a related human services field
- Professional credentials such as CRC and/or LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC
- Strong communication and counseling skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Commitment to client-centered support and employment-focused outcomes
